It was a very informative session about wikis. I think using wikis will help my students work on writing styles, as Jose mentioned on the session, and also to learn to work collaboratively.

Thank you for your interesting clarifications about using google community and wikis. I really enjoyed this new experience of listening, commenting and speaking. I also liked Ayat'application sharing to illustrate how to use this wiki. Thank you both Jose Antonio da Silva and Ayat Tawel for your assistance.

Sorry I wasn’t able to participate (Work) so I had to listen to the recording. I’ve already learned a lot about wikis and Google community, but as you know we always learn something new and useful. Dear Jose thank you for sharing with us your collaborative wiki with wonderful stories. I hope I can use it with my adult students?? Thank you Ayat and Jose for your patience and explanations!

Hi Marija,
We are so happy you enjoyed it. We know that it’s difficult for most teachers to be present at live sessions. That’s why we have the recordings. Concerning using the wiki with your students, feel free to use it as many times as you want to.

Thank you for the informative guided tour of Google+ and wikis. I didn't realize how many useful collaboration features they have, such as Google Hangouts and streaming on YouTube. It was interesting to see how wikis can be used to interact with students without relying on e-mail, which most students don't seem to use much nowadays. Collaboration and sharing on these platforms is more lively and interactive since users can share files and photos along with any assignments they might be posting. Great session!

Hi Kathryn,
That’s true. When it comes to young learners e-mails are not very popular. Collaboration is the driver of both platforms. We are glad you liked it.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend the live session due to my afternoon shift at school so I watched the recording today in peace and quiet. Thank you for this most useful and interesting session on Google+ and Wikis. It seems they offer a wide range of possibilities for teaching and collaborating with students outside the classroom. I will surely explore the ways I can use them with my teenage students. I'm sure they will love it!

I have just watched the recording of the live session (I was teaching at the time of the session) - very informative. I liked Kazik's idea for using wikis with his students to share files etc. because I also work mostly with individual students or very small groups. So something for me to look into! I do have a question though. As my students (adults in companies) usually have a certain number of hours of English training, when their course is finished, can I delete the wiki page, or close it down or archive it or something, so that it is no longer an active page?
Jose Antonio da Silva said
at 5:48 pm on Jan 20, 2018
Hi Suzanne,
That was an interesting idea. I am sure you will also have interesting ideas if you start using wikis.

I suppose it's better late than never, finally I've watched it! :)
Thanks a lot for the session, now I have a challenge to accomplish. I just wonder why I haven't heard about wikis before, it seems quite useful even for my individual students.
Looking forward to the week 2! I'm sure we have a lot more to discover!

Hi Victoria,
You are not the only one who hasn’t heard about them before. Nowadays there are so many tools out there that is practically impossible to know about everything. I’m sure you’ll love exploring wikis. I love challenges.

At long last I have been able to watch the recording! Thank you, Ayat, for describing all the potential of Google+ Communities. I am always fascinated to listen to Jose present how a wiki works. I think my own wiki is long overdue, Jose. Till next week!

Always great to have you with us. With so many tools to explore, it’s almost impossible to try everything. See you around.

Hi
In fact, I didn't attend the live session but I watched the recording. I find the information provided very useful and I am really curious to know how we can make use of google hangouts effectively. I admit that wikis are also something new I am learning about but it's also practical and attractive to pupils as well as to anyone who wants to share information in a community. I am enthusiastic to use it with my students very soon. First I need to prepare some reliable content and just launch a class wiki.
